The Trevor Project: Teaching Tolerance

Maybe this is of interest to some of you:

Bill Brummel Productions and the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) are creating a documentary film for SPLC's Teaching Tolerance program. Although we don't yet have a title, the film's topic is the bullying and harassment of LGBT middle school and/or high school students, as mainly told through the powerful personal story of someone who was regularly harassed in school.

The documentary, along with an extensive teaching guide, will be distributed to about 50,000 Middle and High Schools and will be seen by millions of students. Thanks to the generosity of the Southern Poverty Law Center's many donors, the film is offered to schools completely free of charge.

Your help is crucial in the development of a powerful, thought provoking film. We look forward to crafting a story that will help American youth recognize the struggles of their LGBT peers, as well as inspire LGBT students. We're currently in a search of possible stories to consider for the film. We're hoping to find stories that might include some of the following criteria. We don't expect any story to meet all of the criteria, but the list is a guide for our research.

that's pretty sweet.. on a vaguely related note, my friend's dad, who is called Trevor told me that 'you can't beat a bit of bumfun' when he found out I was gay.. I was the drunk one though 0_o
