US Figure skater is ridiculed by some television newscasters due to the manner that he expresses his personality. Johnny responds face on, with a brief statement. I don't know the rules well enough to see if I can post a link here. But i found it at Yahoo sports. http://sports.yahoo.com/video/player/woly/Figure_Skating/18319952
Re: Thank You Johnnie Wier I don't really like his style, but I like how he stands up for himself and others. http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2010/feb/25/weir-criticizes-tv-critics-olympics/ I tried to find the article on yahoo sports, but only found this one: http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/news?slug=capress-oly_rds_weir-2452145&prov=capress&type=lgns not sure if it is the one that you meant
It is great that he spoke out. I couldn't believe what the two broadcasters said about him when I heard it on the news yesterday evening.
scary thing is, he isnt even repesenting his personality. he apperently when not infront of a camara, or at a event, is a vastly different person. it ultimately is a major act.
Shoot. Fooled me. What is he really like? BTW, I am just glad that he spoke up for himself, and assumed that he was doing just that. Was he just performing? Does he "flame" more when performing or in the public eye, or does he tone it down?
Didn't catch it, but doesn't bother me. Prolly just a tad nervous, and he was speaking without teleprompters. That must have been in another part of the statement, not included in the clip linked above.
Haha. I don't feel that Johnny Weir would need to resort to dolls, but who knows? Anyway, I am also really impressed with a lot of things he said at that press conference. I never really watch figure skating and didn't know much about him, but I think he is spot on with his comments. Here's another clip:
