Exactly. As much as I hate WBC, they aren't breaking laws in their protests. If we become selective on who we want to follow the rules and who we can sweep aside, the whole system crashes.

 

free speech is not without limits. If the speech is deemed harmful and hurtful, it is questionable under the law. Problem is, few people seem willing to properly and fully apply the law. there is a terrible, unspoken view that the moment you enforce the law as it stands, that starts precedence for eroding free speech.

 

Someone should come out with signs saying: Those sign colors are so 80s-and outdated; or God loves everyone, what book are you reading? or something along those lines.

 

I still love the one that said "everyone deserves the right to marry rachel maddow".

I am all for free speech and I agree that they had a right to protest however they wanted. But, seriously, they have no decency. When a member of Phelps's close family dies, I say we protest their funeral. If he objects to our protest, we can just say, exactly.

^ Not just Christianity, but just Theism from a logical viewpoint. They have some serious flaws.
Theism typically postulates an entity that is perfectly morally good.
-- If God is morally good, then God is a personal entity. God has beliefs, purposes, and the power to make choices.
If God is perfectly morally good, then God possesses wisdom, love, and justice.

If God possesses love, God cares about the long-term best interests of any person he creates.

So many members of the WBC either believe that God's morals aren't perfect or their idea of perfect morals is screwed the f%ck up. ....Or they believe we weren't created by God. I challenge them to prove that hypothesis, or even make a good logical argument for it. I'd bet all the money in the world they couldn't. They're wasting oxygen with their existence...
