I know i could just get roweled up about Don't Ask Don't Tell Policy but i suppose that's not what this is about. There doesn't appear to be any reason for the police to make the Air Force aware that she was indeed married to a woman.

The problem she’ll have is that her marriage is matter of public record so legally her privacy wasn’t violated.

yea but surely privacy extends to govt officials discussing you

i dunno its got to be breaking some bill of rights or amendment or summat

it just seems to underhanded and sinister to be legal.

The two women were married in Iowa. South Dakota doesn't recognize same-sex marriage. It "doesn't exist" there. Therefore, South Dakota police contacting an Air Force Base about a "wife" would be illogical, since in South Dakota there would be no wife. In South Dakota, the "wife" talk was notice to the Air Force of the presence of a lesbian on base. It was calculated to get her fired.
