It's OK to be gay in Malaysian movies - as long as you go straight

...obviously they don't know that gay can be a good thing and isn't necessarily a synonym for evil. Plus, you don't just 'turn straight'. You either turn away and don't act on homosexuality or you were bisexual and choose to act straight.

 

OMG, that is really stupid. Even though my country has its bigots, its nothing compared to Malaysia.

Not sure that anyone would dare to, but they could perhaps twist the rules to make a film where a gay person is the lesser of two evils or something; obviously they can't push being gay as not being wrong, but they can make small progressive moves. The required 'lesson' being that being gay isn't as bad as being a small-time thief or whatever.

 

id make a film where a gay super hero pink sparkly spandex and blond firey hair is captured and turned straight by the bad guy and loses his powers he becomes grey and meh. ... well it fills the criteria
