It really is showing the school in Mississippi that they have done wrong. Sexual orientation is no reason to disallow students from bringing their dates to their prom just like their peers.

The more backlash people put against homophobia, the more coverage it'll get. And new anti-discriminatory policies will be put into place.

i still like this  more coverage of the positive acceptance is whts needed , the more people see that its on big deal the sooner they wont even look twice.

i hope they do have a wonderful time even if a slow dance under a disco ball is a bit cheesey :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: cue back to the future soundtrack.

It really is amazing how much coverage the recent stories have been getting. At least people will start noticing how unfair some things really are and maybe even try to change it? That's the hope

Their loss. He will likely grow up to be a far better person than both of his parents combined, and actully do something good for this world.

So like they knew he was gay or did they not know? Cuz it makes it sound he was kicked out cuz of the attention not simply because he was gay....

They probably wanted him to keep his sexuality low-key to avoid embarassment. A sorry excuse but it happens.

Even through this, I hope he has a wonderful time at his prom. I'm shocked that in such a small town in my own state, backwards, redneck Georgia, he'd be allowed to take his boyfriend. Congrats
