White House: Kagan 'Volunteered' Info On Sexuality Before SCOTUS Nomination

I'm still VERY confused to what is happening

Here is what I get so far.

She is rumored to be gay but shes actually not.
She is still very pro gay rights
Some people don't like that?

 

Wait, is she a lesbian or not?

 

Why does it matter?
I don't think it's legal for congress to ask about her sexuality during her nomination process and the more that a big deal is made about it the worse congress will look if they shoot her down without very articulate reasoning.

All this speculation (which is founded on an absurd and stereotypical idea) does is sell a lot of newspapers; that's it.

 

Well I don't think there are laws specifically for it, but I would think that they would have to adhere to the laws that dictate what an employer can and can't ask a potential employee. That would make the most sense to me.

Well I do concede that perhaps one's sexuality does affect his/her views, but I guess, I would prefer ideally if people try their best to see things from a wide perspective and not just support "queer" issues because they are "queer"; ideally....
