It had been on a slow, steady slide toward bankruptcy for some time. The magazine had always been teetering on the edge, pretty much since it started. Unfortunately, the publisher/owner kept publishing articles (like "the pros and cons of using crystal meth") that didn't exactly have advertisers showing up in droves to advertise, and the publisher was incredibly arrogant and really difficult to work with.

So it's a shame that the organization is finally going bankrupt but it's interesting that it was big enough to attract the attention of the FTC.

I think you can sum up everything pertinent in the gay community in 5 issues. A topic that narrow doesn't grant much longevity.
