its not just hiv its anything , sex disease drugs,....you drive it underground and it becomes near impossible for people to seek help.

 

I don't think it's hugely surprising is it?, A lack of understanding in HIV by the relevant government's mean there will be an increase especially among gay communities where safe sex is not advocated.

 

i agree the massive problem is the misconception in that only gay men having un protected sex get this...

where as we know the biggest risks is women in africa

and theres blood transfusions and hygeine issues anywhere from dentist to toilets l...

its a real lack of understanding and a terrible myth that stops progress in the battle of HIV

as i truly believe goverments hear HIV just think of gay men shagging and think why should we waste time and money trying to help them.

i always compare it to breast cancer research and combat... the govt is always going on about it and so much work going on charities and national trusts...mobile screening centres...its a world wide massive thing and they are massively aiming to cure cancer soon...and they are getting much closer. yet hiv theres so little public work on..sure a few scientists are making great progress but the public image is still terrible
