All I get from this is that the whole prediction of this process taking years is incorrect and it sounds like it may go faster than we think.
The motion to stay has nothing to do with the actual trial. What they seem to be asking for is that same-sex marriages are not allowed to happen until the Ninth Circuit can issue its own verdict after a trial. The ninth circuit is only deciding whether Walker's verdict should take effect, which is an entirely seperate issue. The actual trials will progress no slower or faster regardless of the speedy process the motion to stay is occuring.
