In the second-to-last week of the election campaign, Prime Minister Julia Gillard has been questioned on the gay marriage issue almost everywhere she went.

On the ABC’s live Q&A show on Monday night, an audience member stood up to ask the PM why gay men and lesbians were not allowed to marry – then the following night at a televised ‘people’s forum’ held at Rooty Hill RSL, Gillard again tackled the query.

“I know that what I’m going to say now is not going to make you happy – it’s going to disappoint you,” the flame-haired politician admitted.

“I and the Labor Party have a clear policy, and our clear policy is that we won’t be amending the Marriage Act. The marriage Act will stay as it is now, so that marriage is defined as being between a man and a woman.”

Gillard was then again challenged on the discriminatory policy...

they really dont want to be re-elected do they...

politicians at their best.... they listen, they say sorry we arent doing what the people want we are in charge ...who says were supposed to serve you >.>
