Weird. But presumably, the same thing would have happened were they a straight couple, seeing how same-sex marriage is completely legal in Spain.

Having read the rest of the article, I must say that I understand the decision. I dont agree with it, but I recognize that it has absolutely nothing to do with them being gay.

How come surrogacy isn't a legal process for having children in Spain?

I'm unsure. It's possible they find the idea of surrogacy demeaning or something. Or it's just possible they don't like people who can't give birth (which means not just gays but infertile couples and elders)...but who really knows :S

Why? D: At least they're not discriminating because they're gay. They're just being odd with these birthlaws :x

Spain is my favourite country, of all the places I've visited, its the only place i could see myself living other than the uk.

It's not legal here either, or in most European countries. People are against it because they look at it as a "baby market" where babies get sold and bought. The politicans constantly say that having a baby is not a right. And that surrogacy is wrong.

No, not against adoption, only surrogacy. I'm for both.. i don't get the big deal, but I'm more liberal than most people. Because most people here actually support the ban against surrogacy..
