Those must be really cool teachers. I think if we tried this at our school the parents would start a riot.

From the title of the thread, it made it sound like the school was teaching the students how to fight off homophobic bullies. I was like, 'well, that's one way to stop gay bashing.' xD

Back to topic, I think it's great that the school is taking the initiative to educate students and preach tolerance.

That's awesome  This excites me. I just wish the States weren't idiotic and were more progressive like these people...

^ we actually have a GLBT History Month, but not many schools teach it. Speak to your GSA or principal about it. My high school used to do something small with it. I don't think I can give you the website but its pretty good and the it has short videos explaining GLBT icons.

They actually sent my GSA free resources in order to spread the word.

Very interesting. Who would have thought such a simple step could do so much?

Not in high schools or lower. People will have a fit over it.

Legally they can. Morally they are bound..by stupid morals.

Why do people post with out reading... xD

Yes, it can be done. You just have to take initiative and do it yourself. Depending on where you life its going to be easier or harder, but it can be done. How do you think black history month started? You think it was easy to just throw it in there?

Finally someone remembers Alan Turing. Tales like his should be taught in schools.
