Several American football players take ballet in order to keep their ankles and legs well-conditioned.

honestly... male ballet dancers have some of the best bodies around. strong, muscled, toned... plus, flexable, which I am saying not in a sexual way, but good flexability is just a sign of good health... but likely helps in the sack!

Look, Americans regardless of gender or sexuality don't care about soccer, we'll never care about soccer, the whole "We didn't want you to play ANYWAY" spiel doesn't really work.

    And soccer isn't gay?

For the record, I liked playing soccer from a rather young age all the way through 5th grade, till I accidentally broke a girl's leg during a spontaneous soccer game at Rec. :frowning2:

I still like Soccer, I watch it on TV rarely, but I still like it, and I still care about it :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Never would I play football, it's bloody scary.
Hockey and lacrosse, on the other hand, HELL YEAH.
Oh and rugby if I had the right stature. Which I don't.

Its interesting how football still has a big problem coming to terms with homosexuality. There's openly gay people in practically every career and yet I can't think of one professional footballer who is openly gay. Understandible considering Justin Fashanu was driven out of the game because he was gay, and the homophobic abuse Graem Le Saux (who wasn't even gay) took from fans and other players was totally unacceptable. Its going to take one brave player to come out with their head held high. The thing is, I think that they'll now be supported, homophobia is now treated seriously. Its also going to take some brave straight, high profile players to come out (excuse the pun) in support of gay players, and denounce homophobia. I'm pretty sure an anti-homophobia ad was abandoned by the English FA just recently becuase no one high profile enough was willing to take part. Once these things happen the stigma will gradually disappear from the game. But who will have the guts, gay or otherwise, to step out first?

Many footballers actually are made to take ballet classes by their clubs.

Rio Ferdinand, the current England captain, had potential to be a professional ballet dancer, he was so good when he was young.
