I wouldnt trust anything the BBC says on science on its news page.

This could be true, but seriously, I've found myself correcting the BBCs scientific news over breakfast - and I'm not even that good at science.

First of all, I would like to know how many birds they were testing on and over how long a period of time.

If thinking homosexuality is based on mercury poisoning leads people to stop commercial overfishing, I say let 'em believe whatever they want.

I don't think this study has anything to do with human sexuality. After all, they're initial intent for this study was to analyze the effects of mercury in their diet. The fact that an increased rate of homosexual behavior appears in their records is merely an observation. They're not correlating this with human behavior at all.

But it would be kinda funny and interesting to start feeding straight people mercury. lol

Mercury is extremely toxic and leads to dementia. The last thing we need is for people to start arguing that homosexuality is a symptom of anything, especially something as devastating as mercury poisoning.
