This is a good idea, and there's no valid argument against it. History is history. Either you're aware of it, or you're ignorant of it. Any argument against the bill is only an argument to keep the public ignorant of events that have already happened.

the only problem with it is that seeing that it would require new textbooks to be created, which is expensive if it doesnt conform, as strange as it sounds, to the texas board of educations choices in what their textbooks should cover. they are one of the largest purchaser of textbooks, and economicly, publishers tend to make their books more appealing to, or in line with what the texas board decides they want in their text books. most states just fall in line because texas buys in bulk, which makes printing them cheaper because publication of 1000 books costs the publisher more per book than printing 100,000.

That is why we might start seeing thomas jefferson talked about less, and founding fathers most adults have never heard of talked about more in us. history textbooks, becuase the school board found thomas jefferson not to be 'conservative enough'.

california is already in the hole in part because of bad budgeting, and anti-tax intitatives that have defunded the state so horribly. would they really want to put money forward to have books printed for the state that add Gay contributers to society?

It is a nice thought, but I see the budget problems as being a hurdle.
