    Yay~

Although my friends stupidity saying it was already repealed despite me proving him wrong on multiple times kind of pisses me off at the same time.

Its not stupidity. It was a misunderstanding due to people knowing that it was going to pass either way and that the voting was just a formality by that point in time.

    BUT OMG YES!!!!!!!! hahha
There is a lot of crap that still has to happen and we then have to wait 60 days for it to go into effect, but yes!!!

Wow it was a long fight indeed. One more win for us. Hopefully this will change the perspective of our armed forces and raise awarenes to those who are against us mostly due to their ignorance.

Really? Come on. I get that you don't care much about it, but really? xD

Is not just about LGBT serving openly in the military. Its about sending a message to people. To gay kid anywhere that might be thinking that being gay is the worst thing in the world. Its about giving hope for a better future to gay kids. Its HOPE. How much better can it get?

To each its own. I respect that, but must you really make your post in a celebration thread? xD

  13. That's great... Although I don't live in the US I think it's great that they ended that crappy policy

You know Rafi, I know this doesnt matter to you, but to some of us who have wanted to be in the military for most of our lives, this is huge. There is no need for posts like that in a celebration thread.

This is great news. Even though i don't live in America and i'm not in the military, it's still a big step and deserves to be celebrated. (!)

This is really wonderful news. Even though I have never had any intention of joining the armed forces, the repeal of DADT gives me hope for gay rights. In addition to that, this repeal gives me some much needed optimism that the American government can still accomplish great things, even if it doesn't happen with the speed or ease one might like.

it is one of the last few federal forms of discrimination. doma is next.

as each form of discrimination is removed from goverment, it makes it harder for homophobes to suceed. as the military moves ahead, reasonable people *I.E., not the far right wing that cling to their guns, their hatred, and their homophobia*, will see gays pose no threat.
