Sounds like less people are going to church in general. My whole family is fundamentally Christian, but none of them go to church.

^ This pretty much sums up the article for me. It's official - the younger generation of gays have evolved past the concept of "gay ghettos" like the Castro district in San Franscisco or Boystown in Chicago. Likewise, we don't need an all-gay congregation to reinforce our identities, either.

That being said, I'm seriously considering joining the United Universalist church in my city for the simple reason that they are so tolerant and accepting of gay and transgendered people. I just happen to live in a region where homosexuality is strongly stigmatized, and as a transgendered person I would not be welcome among most congregations here.

For those that don't know, the Universalist church is the denomination which started the "Standing On The Side Of Love" campaign, a coalition of religious communities that stand together in solidarity for equal LGBTQ rights.
