Oh for fuck sakes...not only are they overturning gay marriage, but there are going to be a lot of straight couples not happy. Hello, they're overturning civil unions and domestic partnerships >_>

 

thats why we have a judicial system. if the supreme court of the united states continues the lower courts finding that denying marriage equality is unconstitutional, the those fifty-six iowa republicans can go fuck themselves, because they will have no authority on the issue, and society will be stronger because of marriage equality.

 

1) Democrats still control the Senate. The House will pass it, but it isn't going anywhere.

2) Republicans went too far with this. Even if there isn't a majority behind full equal marriage rights, public opinion is very much in favor of at least civil unions. Even if they managed to get it through both houses, they've made it harder on themselves by trying to ban all recognition of gay couples. Bigoted idiots.
