    BTW. Elsewhere on the Internet I'm seeing a LOT of straight folks speaking up for LGBT equal rights whenever bigots begin barking their dogma.

    EDITORIAL ALERT:

    IMO LGBT'ers must be mindful that we each are ambassadors to our shared cause of achieving rights parity with the str8 world. Thus we should behave accordingly in all regards--on-line and off.

    When confronted with verbal ugliness, ensure that online lurkers and/or real life witnesses see only the beauty of a calm, rational, and respectful response to those who would attempt to manipulate one into an emotional, mouth-breathing state of brain-lock.

    When confronted with violence, hit the b*****ds as hard as you can and don't stop 'till after they do!

    This is I think the most important thing. I've done it myself, but nowadays I feel it gets nothing done. If we want to show ourselves not as hate-filled beasts, we need to fight their fire with water. Because otherwise, as cliche as it sounds, it just creates a bigger fire.
