    I image that being a gay couple in Chia has it convinces. If they want to adopt a Chinese baby they just have to go down the street.

    since this article is posted on People's Daily, the mouthpiece of the Communist Party of China, maybe they are hinting at being more tolerant of homosexuals

    I suspect that the government of capitalist China is allowing this marriage to proceed as a trial balloon. Officials may even regard same-sex unions as being helpful re China's population explosion.

    If equal marriage flies in the country whose economy is on track to dominate the 2nd half of the 21st century, then it could bode well for LGBT wedding bells elsewhere.
