Facebook: "In a Civil Union with..."

Is it though, in retrospect? Civil unions and domestic partnerships amount to little more than "separate but equal."

 

Agreed. Not feeling it.

 

For now, I see it as a step in the right direction. It's not like the other options are unavailable now. Facebook added them for people who want to classify their relationship a certain way.

Although if I was on the Facebook staff, I would have been snarky and suggested a "Gay-married to" option. :lol:

 

The should add in a type your own relationship status box.

So, we can use the fabulous "Gay-married to" option Maverick said. lol Or we could come up with our own..like Pant-friends, Pantie-robber-of:, and so on.

Yes, you can. Facebook doesn't restrict 2 people of the same sex from listing eachother as "married to...". Facebook just added it for the same sex couples who want to put SOMETHING on facebook to indicate their relationship status but might not want to put "married" if they actually can't get married.

 

More couples than just Same-Sex couples enter into Civil Unions.

 

My straight friends set their relationship to "domestic partnership" because it best describes their situation.

 

Same for domestic partnerships.
