TurboTax Can’t Handle Your Weird Gay Marriage

Let this one slip. Not everything is active discrimination. TurboTax is doing this because, for the time being, there is an IRS e-file problem dealing with tax returns containing domestic partnerships. The real problem here is that the tax law is different enough for gays for this to even be a problem. Civil partnerships separate but equal? Not so...

Yep. There are a bunch of stuff that you can't eFile.

It will still complete the return, he will just need to print and mail it. No big deal I've had to do paper returns in the past.
