    I still think it is strange that congresspeople have, with checks and balances, the authority to defend laws in court.

    The only thing republicans have to gain from defending the law is smugness and unearned sense of accomplishment at their further anti-freedom facisem.

    It is the government's obligation to defend the standing laws of the country, regardless if you, sir, like them or not.

    The Administration can work to change the standing statutes they disagree with through Congress, which i believe, they are starting to.
