This is disgusting. Cheapass airline doesn't want to pay benefits to a man who's worked his ass of for them for fifty-five years. If he used the word in a non-hateful context, that's surely forgiveable. The guy is 82 for fuck's sake. And did you just make up the headline, because the story says he was not defending DADT, but rather defending its repeal.

You know what...this even pisses me off.
Such is one of the consequences of an overly PC society.

This man served in one of the greatest conflicts of our time..and you know..he probably didn't complain about a thing.

Fuck American Airlines. Glad I always fly Delta...even though my luggage always ends up somewhere other than where I am.

Flippin ridiculous. I saw this on another gay site and like 95% of the comments from members were against the firing. So yeah, if American airlines doesn't reverse this, it'll obviously be totally about saving money. Never gonna fly them.

This is totally stupid. Most old people I know use the words "faggot" and "queer" in this non-confrontational context. To them it's like the n-word. Heck, I still know people this old who say "darky" and "colored" and "negro".

Yeah, this isn't fair. Give the man a break.

Also... If he were openly gay himself and said the exact same thing, what do you think would have happened?

I just like that, on the New York Post webpage, it's put in the subheading "Queens".
