Is San Francisco's Castro neighborhood appropriate for young kids?

    i agree with the whole permission slip thing. as sad as it is for the students of parents that wont let them go, that shouldnt mean other students shouldnt. they made efforts to avoid the most risque areas, so yes i say its appropriate

    I'unno, I visited Castro in the summer. On the whole it was pretty awesome, nothing risque at all. I did, however, see two naked men eating lunch outside a cafe. Obviously that's more an individual case, but still. Reading the article, though, I'm ok with how the field trip was planned and carried out.

    Def not a place to take the kids on a Friday or Saturday night, but The Castro is pretty harmless during the day.
