If you read the article, it's clear that this is not an actual discovery. He's just imagining how such a discovery would change Christianity.
Well... that's a good way to get your name in the paper. Doesn't really matter if its true or not, the 'scientist' is famous... if not very credible.
It's not only untrue it's absurd! Why would he preach against it if he was an openly gay man? Of course the son of the one and only God would be gay! (almost all of that was sarcasm...)
I know this is tongue-in-cheek, but notably, Jesus said nothing about homosexuality in the Bible, at all.
What I don't get is how, under any circumstances, Luke 14.26 could be taken as "a positive exhortation to join in affirmation of a gay lifestyle and love."
