I think the biggest problem with the methodology of this is that in a social climite where homophobia still has a large hold over large groups of american society, results will always be skewed by people who still have not come out saying they are otherwise.

If one reads, it also says "the best guess" meaning no real scientific basis, nor does it include gay men and women below 18. And with Baby Boomers slowly and swiftly fading out, the youth are becoming the bigger population...

I don't know man, but based on my own personal experience (non-scientific), 4% (including bisexuals) sound pretty accurate....

I initially took the 10% to be true, but that just ended up disappointing me when I expected 1 in 10 guys I meet randomly to be gay. :frowning2:

I like how this study automatically discounts a)bisexuals and b)those who have same-sex attraction but no same sex experience. (sarcasm)

1.7% of the adult population is openly gay, anyhow.

that irks me too. I have tried to make it my personal mission in life, even though I am not bi, to combat bi-phobia within the gay community. it seems it is so easy sometimes for people to discount bisexuality, which is a terrible thing.
