"Politicians" change their stances on issues all the time to suit their needs. He won't be the first and he won't be the last.

but does anyone really think that he truly is serious? his shows ratings goes in decline, and all of a sudden he starts making sarah palin sound like a sane, reasonable person by comparrison, his shows ratings go up, and bazing, he is back on top.

if he really was serious about america, he would spend more time focusing on issues that americans actually care about, as the majority of americans do not subscribe to the birther issue, and only like 40-60% of republicans *depending on the poll* give any credence to birtherisem.

in the end, it is the moderates and count, and they dont support the birther movement, and ironicly, the tea party movement. for someone who is suposed to be so savvy, he is doing everything wrong when it comes to presidential politics.

what is next, he will repeat the claim that no terroriest attacks happened in america under George W. Bush? and that the holocaust was no where near as bad as all the jews say it was?

If Trump would actually stick to the actual issues and absolutely go after the current Administration on actual policy, it would be a very interesting campaign season indeed. Independents like people who level with them...Trump obviously has a brash frankness about him, the question is can he harness that effectively?

Trump is a master at branding...hence is a major reason why he is a billionaire, so this could be a real barnburner.

Honestly, I'm a bit confused by this.

The fact that Trump was progressive (or at the very least, indifferent) about gay rights 20 years ago, and is suddenly shifting his stance to conform to party politics is very odd. He doesn't strike me as the type of man to conform. Unless, he wasn't really interested in the well-being of the gay community to begin with, but that's just as odd, since he always struck me as the type of guy to be liberal with these sort of things.

    Either way, it's a bit of a disappointment. =/

Do you think that he is afraid of finally coming to terms with his sexuality? Although, no gay man will wear that hair that way. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

If you want to get to the top, you gotta toe the party line.

Unfortunately, the party line just sucks.

I think he is...but he's just trying to obtain votes.

Except he's pushing away votes from people who aren't Republicans that WOULD vote him (like independents....or libs that don't like Obama).

    You're fired.

Seriously, though. We don't want you anymore, Mr. Trump.

Why would we want someone in the middle of a economic crisis who has driven his own companies to bankrupty multiple times? sure he was savvy enough to do it all in a way that did not risk his own personal wealth...

Honestly, Romney is the only canidate on the right that people are talking about that seems they would be capable of getting the all important moderate and independents, and he did alot of flip flopping on gay rights himself, not to mention created the forerunner of the health care reform. It is shocking some polls put trump ahead of romney, who actually is fairly sane, especially when held up against the rest of the cannidate pool.

but his ability to move to the center means at the end of the day, he is anethma to the far right, which really are becoming the only people in the republican party that seem to count to the party brass.
