    It is pretty common to be denied entrance into seminary and/or be denied ordination on your first attempt. The priesthood shouldn't be treated as a 'back-up' job. I think the Church did the right thing. It is common for the Episcopal Church to admit gays to the priesthood, so I don't think we can blame this on that.

    If he is serious about it, he will stick with it and eventually be ordained. Good Luck to him.
