Michele Bachmann: My Kids are Crazy About Glee

I would really like a fMRI of her brain to see if there is brain damage in the part responsible for logic.

 

Oh my gosh...this is almost as infuriating as that time Maggie Gallagher's assistant dressed up as Jane Lynch for Halloween. Darren should have punched this witch in her beak. Maybe her children won't grow up to be heartless brain-dead cows like their mother though. There's always hope, after all.

 

Soooo ... do her kids watch Glee? or not? Surely they do if they going out of their way to find Chris Colfer. Which, is even more hilarious considering who Chris Colfer plays in Glee, and what she believes in. lololol.

This isn't too surprising. The upper echelons of the GOP are generally fine with gay people, don't really care about abortion, are generally uninterested in the culture wars, etc. They just make a big show of caring about those issues because it makes them popular.

And, if I may briefly rant:

This does not mean that they are not homophobic. Supporting laws that make being LGBT more difficult is far more homophobic than simply disliking gays. There's this idea that intent is what really matters (e.g. Donald Trump isn't a racist, he's just pretending to be). The truth is that actions matter far more than intent when determining if someone is a bigot.

If she had seen a single episode of glee, she would crusade against it like she seems to crusade against anything that promotes 'independent thought'.

 

Being against gay marriage does not mean homophobic.

I have a family friend against gay marriage. She still considers me part of her family, and nothing has changed since I came out.

Why does she oppose it? Because she believes marriage is a religious thing that should be between a man and woman. HOWEVER, she believes that civil unions/whatever they want to call it should extend the same legal rights as a marriage to same sex couples. And honestly, I would see no problem with that. It's just a term. If you love someone, the term that describes the ceremony you pledged to each other really shouldn't matter. It should just matter that you are with them.

Yes, I'm sure there's other things she's done, but just commenting on the biggest opposition she's voiced.

I for one am for gay marriage ONLY because civil unions don't extend the same rights. If they ever do, then honestly, I may be against gay marriage. However, that isn't happening.
