This disgusts me. Specifically when he states "could it not in the future be morphed again to include multiple spouses or even family members?" Apparently, the Archbishop hasn't read the Old Testament, where family members and multiple spouses were the norm. There are other problems as well, but seriously, you'd think an Archbishop would know that his own holy book contradicts him on this point.

If i ever see him walking in the city...(fill in blank) I won't be surprised if in another 10 years or so, news comes out that he has child pornography on his computer and that child molestation charges start surfacing. ironicly, it is not gay marriage being legal that creates 1984 big brother dominance, but it is conservative bigottry keeping gays from having equal rights and marriage equality that creates the beginnings of a 1984 big brother dominance.

besides, it is not hard to set the catholic church's dogma next to 1984, and see the connections. the church through most of its history helped arrange and oversee marriages, and imposed rules for sex, even in marriage. thats kinda orwellian in itself.
