    To be honest, they're going to have a tough time proving hate crime if they had no idea that she's transgendered. But to call the defendant "well-mannered, and thoughtful" is completely ridiculous. I wonder if the lawyer even saw the video.

    How the hell was that self-defense? Kicking and punching a defenseless girl on the ground is never self-defense.
