I'll take his bet though I'm not sure if he owns anything I really want aside for whatever computers he owns.

He clearly knows nothing of DADT and why people are against it. I know people who have really been hurt by this policy so I can't wait until this whole gays in the military thing is done with...I mean, DADT is no way to boost effectiveness, morale, and is no way to treat a service man or woman. It's very stupid and very cruel.

....About halfway through I was ready to cuss... then I kept listening and decided he didn't deserve that. Language doesn't even come close to how I want to respond to this... laughter, actually, is how I'd like to respond. :roflmao:

"Most aren't going to want to strap it on, put on camos, and go to war" yeah that just sounds like some roleplay to me :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Honestly I can see what he's trying to say. I mean underneath all the homophobic bs he's spouting he has a point, if "drafting" comes back people will find any excuse to get out of being forced to go to war. I know I would try anything before being forced to serve.

Its not a hard thing to believe now is it? I mean just look at shit like jury duty and how hard people try to get out of that? XD

On a side note it would be interesting to see how things work if "drafting" happens again because we now have women in the army, plus gays if DADT is permanently solved.

Why the hell is he talking about the draft coming back anyway? Is this something that is recently being discussed in America?

    *shrug*

I know damn well I'd rather kill myself than allow myself to be drafted, though. >_>

I have no issue with others wanting to be in the military, but it's not my place.

Iran, no plan for afganastan and iraq 4 years ago, North Korea, and general neo-con pro-war/anti-service member bullshit.

And four years ago, they decided that the draft was never effective. You get a bunch of people who don't want to be there, so it lowers the morale of everyone in the service. Not to mention that the draft forces training that's supposed to take months into a few weeks. So you have a lot of soldiers, but most of them don't know how to shoot a gun, they're out of shape, and they hate being there. Their effectiveness isn't as good as a properly trained group of volunteers.
