"Lesbian" bloggers revealed to be men

So, I don't know if you heard about the supposedly lesbian blogger in Syria who was supposedly abducted, had her name splashed all over the news, and then was revealed to actually be a straight, middle-aged white man, but now it seems another supposedly lesbian editor of another blog is also a straight dude.

UGH. This is creepy and wrong in so many different ways.

 

I think one of the worst parts is that the guy posing as Amina pretended to carry on an online relationship with a girl in Montreal (from what I understand, he would send her photos - of someone else, of course - but always made up excuses why they couldn't talk on the phone). Can you imagine how hurt, humiliated and disgusted that poor girl must feel right now?

The only slightly funny part about all of this is that these two guys had also exchanged correspondence and flirted with each other, both pretending to be lesbians and thinking they were flirting with another lesbian. It amuses me to think that while they thought they were fulfilling some twisted fantasy with some hot young thing online, there was actually just another creepy man on the other end of the e-mail. HA.
