Not sure this should be here just yet. At the moment though it does says they're getting close to voting on it.

even with majority of NY'ers and Americans supporting it, along with enough confirmed votes to pass, it all comes down to if a bunch of anti-gay republicans will let the bill go to vote.

They can easily refuse to allow the vote to happen just because it has the votes to pass.

Even if there is a vote, the republicans who said that they will vote in favor of it may change their minds at the last minute. If only 32 of them confirm but one backs out, then the bill is gone... :frowning2:

because the view of republicans on the matter is "fuck the constitution, fuck america, fuck freedom, fuck you for not being me."

they could care less about the rights and freedoms of others, as history and thier agenda shows.

senete has adjoined for the night. it starts again tommarow 9:30am.

It doesnt matter that the majority of americans and new yorkers support marriage equality. It doesnt matter that the supreme court has declared marriage a civil right. it doesnt matter that we have a represenative goverment.

they care more about the oppressors than the oppressed.

why do people drink and drive? People do things that are against their best interests all the time.

people vote republican because they believe republicans are moral or ethical, but in reality, the ideals of the nation are counter to republicanisem, and the fundementalist christian ideals that are becoming manditory within the party. Morality and ethics are hardly a feature of politics, but it is funny how republican politics has a detractor in the bible they cling to and claim as theirs. (the RNC wanted a litmus test, that if you failed, you wouldnt get money from them to run as a cannidate, and a few of those were fundie christian demands that had to be met).

There are two constants in the world, death, and human stupidity. Einstein had it right when he said that (or the idea of it, I paraphrased since i dont have the full quote infront of me.)

Saland, one of the GOP "undecideds", is talking now. IMO, it sounds like he is going to vote in favor!
