Sao Paulo council calls for Heterosexual Pride Day

I dont remeber being degraded as a second class citizen, and having to live in fear of having the shit beat out of us was a 'privledge'.

so, this heterosexual pride day is by nature anti-gay because it is being done to demean people for daring to be who they are. we would have no need for pride days if we were treated as equals.

 

Yeah, that makes me feel kind of ashamed to live in São Paulo. There's a huge petition being prepared for Kassab, so he will hopefully veto it. He is from a more or less conservative party, but it is kind of an open secret that he is also gay.

 

Lolwut.

 

Anyone who advocates for 'straight pride' has completely missed the point of pride events.

 

As I read this, first thing I shouted angrily was "PRIVILEGES?!" Like seriously this guy is the dumbest piece of shit I've seen. Well ok that still falls to WBC but still...man...he's on line with Sarah Palin for idiocy.

That's how stupid it sounds when you analogize it to sexuality, too. I'm not big on the "pride" thing myself, but c'mon.

I am not completely against it, though.

 

I'm kind of curious of how they're going to really go about that...are people just going to wake up, get dressed and walk randomly into the middle of the street? I guess instead of rainbows, they'll have a black, grey and white flag maybe? To me, a straight pride parade seems like a bunch of people going "Phew! Thank god I didn't end up on the wrong team!"

 

They'll all be dressed in suits.

Saw the title, and I thought, "whatever, they can do what they want". Then, I saw the word "privileges". Like what?

 

This does irk me somewhat. Heterosexual people have no need for a pride day, do they? How much of the world is heterosexual anyway? I'm going to have to go with the majority of the human race.......Cause, c'mon, let's admit it, they're doing it to protest gay pride, I don't care what they say. Like Emberstone said, if people of all sexual orientations were treated equally, there wouldn't be such a thing as gay pride anyway, cause you wouldn't need it, cause we'd all be equal! Absolutely ridiculous.

And on another note, what privileges? I don't think being the subject of abuse, slander, and even murder counts as privileges, at least last time I checked..........

 

Maybe we could go and protest at there pride and see how they like it.

 

Let them do it. When they see how boring and stupid it is, they will never do it again.

I'm curious too. My friend unfortunately commented on my post of this on facebook asking what's so stupid about a heterosexual pride day...I only didn't argue as I don't wish to piss her off...

 

Didn't you see? We get to use a street for our parades that other people can't use for theirs. That's like, the ultimate privilege!
