This just pisses me off. How can this not be a clear case of murder? Or a hate crime for that matter? Who in their right mind would consider this voluntary manslaughter? And the worst thing is the message it sends to both the LGBT community & to the homophobic population at large. We don't get justice & people who think there was nothing wrong with what this kid did think they'll get a free pass of they diecide to do the same thing. Hopefully the prosecutors have the balls to refile & try the little bastard again. And hopefully the next jury sees thru him & sees hi for what he is...a hote-mongering, homophobic little !@?!...

Did this kid not shoot another kid in the back of the head? In front of a classroom full of people? And walk the fuck out?

Screw whether King was gay or not - that is murder.

I know, seriously. Plus, it's pretty obviously premeditated. He hid the freaking gun in his backpack. This really is just a sad day for the judicial system.

And he told other students the day before that he was going to shoot King.

A clear case of sympathizing with the criminal and not the victim. This trial should have gone to a judge-only trial.

It's ridiculous, pathetic, and abhorrent. I once again am disgusted with America. Sorry my American LGBTSQQ2 friends....but your country still hasn't done much to impress me.

there is not such thing as 'gay panic'. there is such a thing as 'mentally challanged jurors'.

this just reminds me of the casey anthony trial.

the jurors ignored established evidence, the defense never legitimatelly proved the established evidence wrong, and the defenses arguements could easily by dismantled by a 4th grader.

Although I do think that Casey Anthony got away with murder, I really don't think you can compare that case to this one. The evidence in this one was clear cut, and all of the evidence in the Anthony case was totally circumstantial. Was it very suspicious? Absolutely. You can't put someone on death row based on a mere suspicion though. It has to be proved. The jurors did the right thing, and the prosecution bungled it completely.
