    That sounds like a huge step forward!

    though I do think that if I do find myself in a committed relationship with a sexual component, I'd still be out under such a ruling. I don't think we'd abstain for a year every so often just to donate blood :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

    As far as I can tell, the USA is also looking towards reducing the ban as well. It's not in any sort of official recommendation yet, but at our LGBT meeting two weeks ago it was mentioned.

    Regardless of the USA's decision, though, this is fantastic news for the people of the UK! More blood for those who need it and equality based science, woo!

    and for the past three years i have been donating my sperms on my birthday

    With the Republican frenzy sweeping the nation right now, I worry that this could be unlikely after the 2012 elections. Medical proof is often of little consequence to right-wing politicians seeking to garner the support of their ignorant constituents (mind you, I do not mean that their constituents are ignorant in every matter, but they are often ignorant on this matter).
