    hindsight is 20/20...

'After the fact' really is meaningless. so far, the republican canidates spend more time talking the talk, but never really have the background to show they walked the walk.

At least he is admitting that there should have been a reprimand there, which is more than can be said for any of the other candidates.

it proves how brainless the GOP contenders are. they practically handed Obama a gold mine. Republicans like to profess themselves the sole supporters of our military personal to the point that it is a cliche, and yet here republicans are booing a soldier, and the GOP contenders lusting over the white house all basically stood back and let it happen without repremand. now, at an extreme snails pace, they are feigning regret.

I think the only other one I heard talking about this was a canidate who hasnt been allowed to join any of the debates because he is too moderate/intelligent/moral for a republican grandstanding debate.

they handed obama a gift by showing the disrespect republicans will show a soldier if the soldier doesnt fit some narrow-minded, anti-american ideaological mold that the right wing are expecting their canidates to conform to.

Obama gets to point out how none of the canidates at the debate had the morality, brains, or spine to defend a american soldier, while pointing out that he stood up for americans who are willing to fight for and defend their nation.

it reminds me of when republicans would block bills put forward by democrats to get better armor for our troops during the beginning of the afgan and iraq conflicts, but then refused to put forward their own.

lets the republicans grandstand... it will only hold them back.

DADT is gone for good, DOMA is going down, and america will survive the so called 'gay mafia' will never materialize to destroy the 'fabric of american society, and the family'.

Yeah, I'm kind of hoping the conservatives just kind of make their own noose on this election. It's not like they haven't given themselves enough rope yet or anything.

right now, and really, for the last ten years, republicans have been about 'flash, bang!', but no real substance. ten years ago, people like bachmann, cain, and perry would never have been considered possible front runners for a presidential primary... now, the only way to be a front runner for a republican primary is to be disconnected from reality, with a penchant for using buzzwords, and an inability to look past election day.

Shoulda, woulda, coulda - I ain't falling for it. The only reason he's announcing this is to try to avoid the fallout, which he deserves as much as all of the other candidates there. After all, he did state that he believes that homosexuality is a choice.

if he really stood for supporting our military personal, he, and the others, would have commented on the booing when it happened... not over a week later.

Even if that were what he genuinely believed, why would anyone want to vote for a coward?

Love how RedState hasn't said anything. Usually he's ready to lash out at us Democrats :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: well ok I'm NDP in Canada, but technically that does stand for New Democratic Party, so I guess I kinda am a Demo.

I think it is telling that is basically took him about a week to figure out he should have spoken out against such anti-american behavior as we have been seeing at these republican debates.

first they applaude and cheer americans dieing because the insurance companies cut them off the moment they got sick, and left them to die without all the money they had been paying into their insurance for WHEN they got sick. Then they tout their christanity while applauding the death penalty (let he who is without sign cast the first stone - a statement made by jesus, who by republican definitions of the word is technically a liberal socialist by virture of his teachings, and the platform of the democratic party). then they boo a active duty soldier who is fighting overseas to keep our country safe and secure, just because that soldier does not conform to a narrow-minded standard of what far right extremist hate-mongerers demand everyone but themselves conform to.

a week is a week too late, buddy.
