    "Parents told reporters that they found the word change inappropriate and that it has encouraged them to take the time to explain to their children that 'gay' is not a bad word."

    Well at least something good's come from this.

    It's not clear to me what that consisted of. Did they tell them it's not a bad word because being gay isn't funny, or that it's not a bad word because "it used to be a perfectly find word before the homosexuals hijacked it"?

    I actually kind of understand her reasoning.

    I co-direct my school drama club, and we recently did a play that included singing Deck the Halls . Even the high schoolers had issues getting passed the word. I dont think she was saying the word was wrong, she was just trying to get passed the distraction it was causing. I dont understand why we always blow things like this out of proportion.
