Landmark decision in favor of transgendered woman in Georgia

    This is really great news. The conservative 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, one step below the Supremes, ruled that a woman who was fired because her boss "didn't want a transgendered person working there because it would be disruptive" was, in fact, a victim of sex discrimination. The woman got her job back, her previous, bigoted boss has retired, and she even got some (though not most) back pay.

    This is a pretty major step forward. :slight_smile:

    This is awesome! Nice to see that the judicial system in some places are starting to recognize & positively address the problems for transgender people! Im wasnt surprised that this case took place in Georgia, but Im happy that Georgia courts are recognizing trans rights!

    Why are the comments on articles like this so hateful. It makes me cry to read stuff like that. It makes me scared.

    I was actually very shocked by how bad some of the comments were. People would comment on comments just to correct people and be like, "that's not a her, its just a mutilated man."

    And one of the people claimed to be his co-worker and said he is just a man in a wig. It actually is rather depressing.
