I just posted this on facebook... it's a really powerful video. It shows how far we have come, but how far we still have to go.

I started another thread because I didn't see this one. The filmmaker (same guy that directed and performed in the brilliantly funny "California Guys" music video parody) is raising money to finish the documentary and has a Kickstarter page.

I haven't cried this much since I watched Milk. Truly amazing, and I hope it gets funded.

Wow. That was......powerful. It's odd to see a 7-or-so minute clip that simultaneously tell you that you're not as human as others and reaffirms your right to everything other people have. I can't wait for the film!

This brings tears to my eyes. I hope narrow-minded homophobes could watch this and change the way they think.

“How many more gay people does God have to create before we ask ourselves if he wants them around?” is possibly the dumbest argument for gay rights that I have ever heard.

It completely misunderstands the prevailing anti-gay attitude of the Christian right. Why do you think that they can not let go of the concept that being gay is a choice? Its because they believe that being gay is a sin in the same way as being a thief is a sin, in the same way as they believe that being a murderer is a sin. Homosexuality, during Biblical times, was seen as straight men/women engaging in perverted sex with other straight men/women.

So, when you say "How many more gay people does God have to create before we ask ourselves if he wants them around?" you may as well be saying "How many more thieves does God have to create before we ask ourselves if he wants them around?".
It doesnt make any sense to the people who you are trying to convince.

    End.

I was moved by this vid as well.

I think the, “How many more gay people does God have to create before we ask ourselves if He wants them around?” question will get the moderate people thinking about whether God is really against gay people. Sadly, nothing short of a suicide of a child will get some people to reconsider their beliefs, like in Prayers for Bobby. We don't need those people to get majority support (not that we should need it for equal civil rights and I would love for those people's hearts to soften enough to see the good in our love), but the religious movable middle can come to see us as a part of God's plan since we keep growing up to be gay, at no one's fault. We just are and we deserve full and equal rights. I believe some people will realize that if they hear that quote, they're close to a gay person and they give it some serious contemplation.
