I just heard the news today--and I couldn't believe it at first--that Mark Aguhar (calloutqueen on Tumblr) died two days ago. I cried so hard when it finally sunk in. I'm having trouble trying to describe Mark in just a few words--she was one of the most amazing queer voices I've ever heard. One who needed to be heard. She was an artist. She was a critical of white privilege and of masculine privilege and other oppressive institutions, and she was even critical of queer communities. She was the fiercest of femmes. She was just amazing, and I'm so profoundly sad to hear about her death. Rest in peace, Mark, the queer community will never forget you.
this is so sad. I don't know who she was but it's so sad when anyone feels they have to take their own life to escape. My thoughts go her and her family's way.
Thank you for the correction! It doesn't look like I can edit the post, though. :/ I wasn't sure if I should use "she" or "they" as I was writing this, to be honest. I probably should have used "they" in the first place, since it is more gender-neutral.
i wish this type of thing would never happen my thoughts are with the family my tears are for them...
Didn't know them before this post ... but it's never a good thing. Horrible. The world is a dark and dismal place.
