Can you marry your gay partner in a different (not yours) country even if you are not a citizen of this country?

Is your matrimony then officially accepted in your own country when you come back (if you can not marry a same-sex person in your country), for example at different offices, police, hospitals etc?

I do believe that depends on the countries involved. Not an expert, though. :/

Generally no. Only those that actually say they recognize outside marriages accept it

It depends on the countries involved. I know for sure that it's true for Israel and Canada. Israel doesn't allow for same-sex marriages to be conducted within it's borers but it does recognize all marriages that are legally recognized and sanctioned anywhere else--and grants them equal status and rights as heterosexual couples. So a lot of gay Israelites will travel somewhere else and get married--like Canada--honeymoon there, and then go back home.

New Zealand is another country where marriage equality is illegal, but is recognised if it was conducted in a country that does have marriage equality.

Well, Belgium has same-sex marriage, so we will obviously accept same-sex marriages conducted abroad.

However: you can't just come to Belgium and get a same-sex marriage. The only way to get permission for that is to marry a Belgian, or to prove you have been a legal resident of Belgium for three months previous to the marriage.

Generally, it differs country to country, though, so it's hard to give a black or white answer here.
