I was born in Taiwan as well...most of my relatives live there as well. But it is precisely because of stigma I pretty much now dislike going back especially when I'm soon to be around the age where they expect you to have at least to have a partner...a hetero one that is =___=.
Same ... I am going back to Taiwan in May and I don't think I am ready for all those judging eyes. My parents ask me about boy friends all the time, and I just tell them I'm too busy
I'd like to see what the figures are like for the rest of East Asia. I'm not out to my Hong Kong relatives, and they'd be pretty horrified at the thought of me being gay. Of that, I'm damn sure.
