Same-sex couple barred from Lexington Catholic prom

    The thing is that this move isn't even defensible under the Cathechism, which states very clearly that all discriminatory and bigoted actions toward homosexuals are to be avoided in the interests of "helping them in their struggle."

    Not be against them or anything, but they go to a Catholic private school. Technically, the school does have the right to say they can't do it based on their religion. And to be honest, they should have expected it. This probably happens at every Catholic school nowadays every year, so it really shouldn't have been a surprise or something to go to the press with. It won't change anything.

    The Vatican would wholly disapprove of the move. This is from the Cathechism:

    Not a very pleasing policy, but certainly not one which this school can use to justify its actions.
