So, this is good news if DOMA is heard by SCOTUS, right?

It was posted by a conservative on a forum I’m on. He’s convinced that Roberts is gay and that Obama (or Hilary Clinton) threatened to out him and that’s why he switched his vote on healthcare.

Somewhat good news but I wouldn’t get too excited. It means that he isn’t deeply opposed to gay rights and that if his judicial philosophy leads him to gay friendly ruling he wouldn’t invent away to go against, however I’m not sure how often his judicial philosophy will lead him to gay friendly conclusions.

The Supreme Court has generally been favorable to gay decisions. The only two justices who consistently decide against gay issues are Scalia and Thomas, the two furthest to the right anyway.

now that's just too much! It is a bit funny but if you read more into it, its a way of saying that anything bad that happens to conservatives (in this case Roberts' ruling) is because of gays!!

I wouldn't be surprised to find that, 25 years from now, somebody owns up to the fact that there was some sort of pressure put on in some way. Not saying it's right, but then, the Supremes have been making a lot of really ass-backward decisions recently, going against well established precedent, pulling shit out of their asses.

From what I've read about this decision, from a constitutional perspective, seems like it was rather poorly articulated, leading even more to the idea that Roberts may have had some other agenda going on.

Cool, for non-hypocritical conservatives gay rights is a non-issue and the eventual outcome is obvious to all.
Also I am surprised that people think there's a chance in hell that DOMA will get any traction in the Supreme Court. Our court would be such a laughing stock if it didn't shut it down.
