Well, there is sense in that it makes a statement and an example... and that is what boycotting and protesting and being active publically do to an extent. They create examples.

But, now I feel that that kind of stuff doesn’t work as well as it used to. These corporations are a new animal because we’ve let them slip into our lives and influence us now almost 24/7 as a society. Not just Chick-fil-a, but all corporations. Some people have figured it out, but I feel like most have not. Just the fact that I hear people, like, rallying around Chick-fil-a, a terrible restaurant that serves food that is terrible for you. Chick-fil-a is actually barely a restaurant, like all fast food restaurants. They are awful things but just seeing people use this overpriced trash product that serves no good as an identity is just saddening.

Like, there are people carrying Chick-fil-a as a banner for their values and it’s disgusting that a person thinks that life is as simple as that. Life is complicated and diverse. Some people are gay and you really don’t even need an opinion on it. That’s the whole fucked up thing about being gay. Everybody has an opinion on it and you don’t need one at all. We’re just people like you, person with an opinion on being gay, and it’s not even something that needs any reaction more than one of pure mundanity. Just average stuff really. Like being told water is wet.

Doe anybody else feel the same way when stories like this happen? I’m so sick of this story already. I’m sick of hearing about it. I’m sick of every person who brings this story up to me outside of EC.
