This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Not only do they pick and choose what they believe from the Bible, but now they've started making things up to justify their prejudice.

Just goes to show you that stubborn people in desperation will say just about ANYTHING to defend themselves from changing their thinking and go right on living the way they always have, whether it's a good change or a bad change.

Wow... that makes no sense whatsoever. I really don't understand how he would come to that conclusion.

NO ONE should be offended by this rubbish, Christian or not. 1st of all, the Bible clearly states that the flood was due to the violence of the day, nothing about buttsex in there! PLUS, the angels that took on physical bodies lusted after the DAUGHTERS of men .... **sigh** at least stay true to your own idiocy, people!

I couldn't help but laugh at the stupidity.

I wanted to post something along these lines too but I guess just a quote would do the trick too.

Trust me... I know people that fully follow things like this line of "logic," as if it made perfect sense. He's likely a highly respected individual.

Irrationality can be pervasive when one's argument centers on intangible things like "faith."

As a gay Christian, I take no offense. This "pastor" is a definite mook who has obviously lost his way. It's hilarious how he's using a moralistic, teaching story as "historical proof" that gays are immoral.

This isn't the first time I've heard the claim. It's usually justified by a (I think Talmudic) Midrash* that says that the flood didn't start until after men married men and women women.

*Midrash: a Jewish tradition of expanding upon a biblical story to aid in understanding and interpreting it. This was really popular in the first few centuries of the Common Era, lots of rabbis did it. Some were more popular than others, and there weren't many rules on what was allowed for midrashim. For example, one midrash states that God got the Israelites to accept the covenant by holding Mount Sinai over them and threatening to drop it if they didn't agree.

I don't know what's worse. That they made me laugh hysterically as I read each word...or that they're distorting more and more religious aspects....sigh. I'm quite 100% positive that the society before the flood wasn't "embracing homosexuality", but hey maybe they did? Problem is, it sure never said anything in the Bible about it! lol

They made Sodom and Gomorrah about homosexuality when it's actually about hospitality, so might as well make Noah's Ark about it too.

    But seriously. What. The. Fuck.

Okay. Stupidity reached an embarrassing level long ago, now its just offensive
I would like to point out gay marriage has been legal in places many times before today while being after the damn flood, INCLUDING DURING JESUS' TIMES!
To think that men getting married caused a flood is absolutely imbecilic, no matter your religion.
I could (and have) go on for hours about this, but I will just say this: people. are. STUPID!
